LITELOK X1 Saves Motorcycle in Rugby #88

On the 27th of August in the early hours of the morning, an attempted theft occurred on Jon's motorcycle in Rugby. 

At 4:30am, a group of masked thieves thought they had found their next target, but thanks to the LITELOK X1 their plan failed. 

“Three lads in face coverings tried to steal the bike at 4oclock in the morning, on the street, right outside my house and caught on camera assessing the bike and security.

it's great that the lock slowed them down enough that I could get to the window and scare them off. Not so great, is the damage they caused to the bike, and the need for a new lock.”

The bike in question was a Yamaha R125 worth around £3,000.

“The bike they tried to steal was a Yamaha R125 worth about £3k. In the first video they take a picture of the plate. Someone's else's camera then shows them scrolling classified ads to see what the bike is worth.

Up to 25 bikes have been stolen in our area in the last few months. Ours were one of the very few to defeat them. The black bike also has an X1 fitted. Both bikes have had less aggressive attempts in the past.”

This incident highlights both the reality of bike thefts and the importance of investing in strong security, making the difference between losing a £3,000 bike and keeping it safe.

In areas where thefts are on the rise, prevention is key. A visible, reliable lock can be enough to discourage even the boldest of thieves. For Jon, it turned what could have been a devastating loss into a success story.
