Frequently Asked Questions
Can X1 be cut with an angle grinder?
Unfortunately, all locks can be cut with the right tools and enough time. The exact time it takes depends on a number of factors like the power of the angle grinder, the type of discs used and the skill of the user. During our own and independent tests we found that X1 is at least 5 times more angle grinder resistant than the current leading D-lock as well as needing multiple discs to cut it.
How much does LITELOK X1 weigh?
LITELOK X1 weighs approximately 1.7kgs or 3.7lbs.
What's the difference between X1 Bike and X1 Moto?
There is no difference between the Bike and Moto versions. They are exactly the same locks. The reason why we differentiate them is to show how X1 can be used as an effective security device for all types of bicycles and motorcycles.
What's the difference between X1 and X3?
LITELOK X1 and X3 are both highly resistant to angle grinder cuts. This resistance comes from the layers of Barronium® that each lock features. X3 uses a greater amount of Barronium® meaning it has a higher resistance to angle grinder cuts than X1. X1 has at least 5 times the resistance to angle grinder cuts compared to the best selling d-locks whereas X3 has at least 20 times the resistance.
What is the locking circumference of LITELOK X1?
LITELOK X1 has a full-sized locking circumference of approximately 101 x 196mm meaning you can lock more bikes in more places than other armoured u-locks.
Can I attach LITELOK X1 to my bike?
LITELOK X1 is compatible with our innovative X1 Tactical mount for mounting the lock on your bike frame. The X1 Tactical Mount fits a wide variety of bikes and e-bikes ensuring your LITELOK X1 is held securely even the roughest of terrain.
X1 is also compatible with the Twist & Go mount.
Both of the X1 mounts are sold separately.
Has LITELOK X1 been independently tested?
Yes, it has been thoroughly tested by independent testing bodies Sold Secure and ART. Both locks achieve Sold Secure Powered Cycle and Bicycle Diamond levels (the highest ratings available) and ART4.
(Note: Sold Secure is owned and administered by the Master Locksmiths Association (a not-for-profit trade association) and works from purpose built laboratories in the UK.

What is LITELOK X1 made from?
LITELOK X1 is built with Barronium®, a patent-pending anti-angle grinder material that is applied as a permanently fused composite armour, providing maximum cut resistance and protection from angle grinder attacks. The Barronium® layer repels angle grinder discs.
The X range comprises of three layers of protection:
1. A fine-grain, hardened high-tensile steel core providing inner strength against multiple tool attacks
2. Barronium® anti-angle grinder armour, permanently fused to the core to repel angle grinder discs
3. A plant-based eco-rubber outer layer is soft to touch, so it won't damage your frame.
What is the warranty?
LITELOK X1 is sold with a 3 year warranty to provide peace of mind and covers mechanical or operational faults through normal usage. The warranty does not cover aesthetic wear and tear. It is important to register your lock and keys with us so that in the event that you lose your keys, replacements can be ordered.

Planned a trip to Morocco, which I and a friend are currently coming to the end of, and had purchased the X3 to take along with a heavy chain and two disc locks. After receiving the X3 I soon realised that this and an X1 would be all I needed. Have used both to securely lock the bike each evening. One goes through the front wheel hub and the other through the rear. I can sleep soundly knowing the the bike is as secure as it can be. What a fantastic product that I would 100% recommend. I was so impressed I decided to buy two one for the front wheel one for the back wheel yes if a thief really wants your bike they will take it but in my opinion I'm doing the best I can by putting these products on my bike and it does give you a bit of peace of mind that you've tried your best with this lock I highly recommend it.

Bought to replace heavy chain with padlock and and 'D' lock.
I live in Bristol notorious for M/C theft.
Having become aware of angle grinders used in M/C thefts, it was time I upgraded my bike security.
I now use both Litelok products to secure my bike to a ground anchor which is welded to an industrial band saw.
The liteloks are easy to use so I will also use one or both of them when leaving the bike on the street. I could easily secure the Core Moto to a post or another m/c.

Whether my bike is at home in my garage. I’ve stopped locally for an extended period, or have gone a multi day road trip the LITELOK X1 is my go to motorcycle & bicycle lock. In anticipation of a new job change, I am looking forward to commuting by bike to my workplace! However, I started to have anxiety about thieves who would be looking at my gravel/commuting bike. I've had theft scares in the past, and my previous setup included a cheaper u-lock with a cable. I wanted to upgrade my locking system, and this u-lock is the right answer. Yes, it is expensive, but I think what you're buying is peace of mind for the anti-angle grinder resistance, as well as a sturdy, lightweight, beautiful product that simply works well.
