Are angle grinder resistant motorcycle locks worth it?
Yes — if your motorcycle is worth protecting. Angle grinders have become the standard tool for organised motorcycle theft, capable of cutting through most standard locks in seconds. Both use Barronium® to resist angle grinder attacks, but they differ in the level of protection and the cylinder. The X3 Moto has four times more Barronium® coating than the X1 Moto and comes with the ABLOY® SENTRY — the most pick-resistant cylinder available. The shackle legs of the X1 Moto measure 25.5mm × 22.5mm with the polymer coating (18.6mm × 20mm without). The X3 Moto shackle legs measure 27.5mm × 24.0mm with coating (22.5mm × 20mm without). If you ride a high-value motorcycle or park in high-risk areas, the X3 Moto is the stronger choice. Both carry a Sold Secure Diamond rating for Powered Cycles and Motorcycles.
