LITELOK X3 Saves E-Bike in San Diego #155

Madison reached out to us to share their experience after an attempted theft of their $1,900 Aventon e-bike in San Diego, California, on 1 September at 8am.

The bike was secured to an immovable bike rack inside Madison’s gated parking garage when a would-be thief gained access and attempted to cut through the lock. Unfortunately, we are seeing an increasing number of attempted thefts in gated parking garages.

“My bike was attached to an immovable bike rack in our gated parking garage. A person got into the garage and tried to cut off the bike lock to steal the electrical bike. Although due to the durability of the lock they were unsuccessful.”

Madison went on to explain how they had secured their bike. We always recommend locking your bike through the frame to a solid, immovable object, and checking that the object itself is secure before locking your bike to it.

“The biked was locked through the bike frame to an immovable bike rack.”

Images shared by Madison show what appears to be an angle grinder attack by the would-be thieves. Thankfully, the LITELOK X3 stood up to the attempt, preventing the £1,900 e-bike from being stolen.

The LITELOK X3 is our toughest bike lock, offering 20 times more angle-grinder resistance than the best-selling D-locks.

Madison’s experience is a real-world reminder of why choosing LITELOK can make all the difference when it comes to protecting your bike.

Opting for a Sold Secure Diamond-rated lock with angle grinder resistance is a smart choice for anyone looking to protect their bike from theft.
