Bike theft is becoming an increasingly common problem in cities across the world, and even private apartment garages are no longer immune. Recently, Michael reached out to share how his LITELOK X1 protected his bike during an attempted theft in Seattle.
The incident happened overnight in his apartment garage, where his Canyon bike had been securely locked to the hanging racks.
“Approximately $3,000 in my apartment garage overnight. It was locked to the hanging racks around the garage. Thieves attempted to cut the lock overnight and were unable to do so, so they gave up.”
Stories like Michael’s reflect a growing trend we are seeing more frequently: thieves gaining access to private garages and apartment parking areas.

For riders, that reality can be unsettling. But for Michael, the outcome could have been far worse.
