On the 20th of August 2025, around 5:05pm, Rainer arrived back at Lichfield City Train Station, ready to head home after the day.
"My Litelok X1 was successful in stopping somebody from stealing my eBike using an angle-grinder."
Bike is worth £2200 new, and was locked securely to the station platform rack with the LITELOK X1.
“As I approached my bike to go home I noticed somebody next to it packing away a cordless angle-grinder – it appeared that they had given up on their attempt to cut through the lock. They left the scene when I got closer. The attempted theft has been reported to the police.”
The would-be thief had clearly tried to force their way through, but the X1 stood firm. The lock held its ground, leaving the bike untouched and still secure to the rack.

Rainer was able to unlock their bike, ride away safely, and report the incident – with the peace of mind that the lock had protected their investment.
Train stations are well-known hotspots for bike theft, often targeted by opportunists and even organised thieves. With so many commuters leaving their bikes for hours at a time, and with crowds moving quickly in and out, it’s the kind of place where a thief can try their luck.
Rainer had secured their bike with multiple locks, a smart approach to bike security. Using more than one lock is considered best practice when securing a bike, particularly in high-risk areas like train stations. A layered locking approach slows thieves down and makes the job significantly harder, often requiring extra time, energy, and tools that most won’t be willing to risk.
